"I began my adventure with tattooing in 2020. After twenty-five long years in the restaurant industry, and as the world changed with lockdowns, it was a chance to reflect on my future. I picked up a machine online, and started watching hours of videos. I was graciously given an opportunity and worked diligently the next four years on my art and the skills of tattoos. I am never satisfied with where I am at, so I am constantly learning. I hope to be able to share everything I know with others that seek an opportunity."

Joshua Cordeal

Joshua Cordeal is a traveling tattoo artist, originally from Orlando, FL. Born 1991. Self-taught, Joshua specializes in portraits and black and gray realism. Joshua began tattooing in 2012, after attending the International Academy of Design and Technology, where he studied Digital Media productions. He found tattooing soon after dropping out. Immediately realizing the difficulty in entering the industry, Joshua was constantly turned down for an apprenticeship. Determined to learn the trade of tattooing, he began practicing daily with equipment he'd purchased.

As far back as she can remember, Alex has been a lover and creator of art. Throughout high school, she was an active member of the National Art Honor Society and knew that she would one day make art into her career. For the past few years, she has been working towards becoming a tattoo artist by building an art portfolio and in the last year; making tattoos and creating lasting friendships with her clients. Outside of tattooing, Alex enjoys spending time with her sons and her husband; typically doing something outdoors or listening to their favorite music together.

Avalon’s journey into the world of tattooing began with a deep love for historical art and a desire to create lasting, meaningful designs on skin. Whether it’s a small, intricate design or a large, bold statement piece she is happy to work with her clients to create something unique. She specializes in folk art and illustrative designs. When she is not at the studio, you can find her sketching new ideas, exploring museums, and roller skating.

She grew up in a family of artists, and began pursuing her own visual art at a young age. In school, Loretta won awards for her linoleum printing and graphite drawing and then focused on an Art and Theater Major in college. Later, she began her self taught journey in hand-poked tattoos. With 8 plus years of hand-poked tattoo experience, Loretta sought out an apprenticeship to further her knowledge and learn machine tattooing. With a year of machine experience under her belt, she is continuing to learn here at The Urban Magnolia.

Johnna started her career in 2019, after feeling lost in the workforce. Having a love for makeup, she decided to try cosmetology school. She fell in love with the art of coloring hair. But in Myrtle Beach, there wasn’t much of a market for vivid hair. After moving to Chattanooga in 2021, there was more opportunity to try new styles, and now she is a vivid colorist. Whether it be a fun vivid color, the perfect blonde, an edgy cut or a more traditional bob, she’s got you covered.

Art has been who I am for as long as I can remember. Diagnosed with Chiari malformation in middle school art was always my escape from the bad things in the world. One brain surgery later I’m back on track doing what I love! I went to college for graphic design and found a passion for illustrations through the media of ink on skin.
